About Us

Mailorang Repertory, Delhi was established in 2005. Its main objective is to research, conserve, develop, train, spread and document the abstract cultural heritage, Mithila painting, dramatics and multiple cultural traditions (Katha Sankeertan, Natua Nach, Rasan Chauki, Pamariya, Keertaniya, Vidyapat, Jatjatin) of the Mithila region. Mailorang is dedicated to conserve the abstract art and cultural initiatives of Mithila and showcase them to the world. Mailorang has represented Mithila culture on various platforms and at festivals in different cities across India and Nepal. Within a span of few years, Maithili Lok Rang has gained a national level recognition under the able guidance of senior theatre artist Dr Prakash Jha.

Kathak Lok, Ek Chhal Raja, Kamalmukhi Kaniya, Kosi San Bedardi Jag Me Koi Nai, Jal Damru Baje, Paanch Patr, Vilap, Mukti Parv, Sundar Sanyog, Bada Natakiya Kaun, Pigh Natakiya Ke, Manimanjari, Bharashtachar Aa Sadachaar, Originol Kaam, Deh Par Kothi Khasa Diya, Romio Juliet/ Chan Chakor, Maithil Nari: Char Rang, Amli, Aab Main Jaao, Dhoortsamagam and others have been successfully performed by Mailorang at various levels.
